Simon Bolivar and Latin American Revolutions
Simon Bolivar is mostly known for having a a country named after him, Bolivia. Him and his army took over most of South America, except Brazil, he defeat the Spaniards to win the countries. Napoleon Bonaparte was his brother, basically he probably felt as if he needed to be better than his own blood. He was a hero because he thought all people were suppose to be equal and free. The main reason he wanted his quest for revolution was that he thought some people in South America shouldn't be treated in a foul way by the Spaniards. The people in Latin America were inspired from The Enlightenment, they wanted their own liberty and they wanted their own freedom. In Europe Napoleon controlled Spain and entered his brother as king of Spain. The people in Latin America were suppose to respect the king, but how could they if he wasn't even Spanish. Later on Simon Bolivar got a illness and stayed home for a couple days. Days past by and he died. Everyone thought that they should respect him in some way. So they got his last name and named a country after him, the country now known as "Bolivia".
